Portal Crane

Portal cranes (commonly referred to as "portal cranes") are jib-type rail-mounted slewing lifting equipment. Centered on their portal-shaped base to enable 360° full-slewing operation, they serve as the core equipment for heavy-duty handling and precision lifting in ports, shipbuilding, and offshore engineering sectors.

Portal cranes (also often called 'gantry cranes') are the core heavy-duty loading and unloading equipment in ports, terminals, shipyards and other scenarios.
Portal crane
A clear  passageway is reserved under its portal frame to accommodate rail vehicles, container trucks and other traffic needs. Boasting a large working coverage, high anti-overturning stability, flexible luffing and slewing capabilities, as well as efficient heavy-duty performance, it is suitable for continuous high-intensity working conditions.
The whole machine integrates an upper slewing system and a lower portal travelling system. The slewing section includes the jib, A-frame, slewing platform, and the three core mechanisms of hoisting, luffing and slewing. Combined with an intelligent electronic control system and operator cabin, it enables precise control of vertical cargo lifting, jib luffing and full-circle slewing.
The portal travelling system consists of the portal frame, bogies, travelling rails, rail clamps and anchoring devices, providing both structural support for the whole machine and rail-mounted mobility. Through the coordinated operation of these four major mechanisms, it achieves precise three-dimensional lifting, transporting and positioning of cargo.

As a professional manufacturer of special offshore engineering equipment, our portal cranes are designed to meet the diverse needs of multiple industrial scenarios. Our core models fall into four main categories, and we also offer customized production for mainstream specifications. Heavy-duty models such as the 150-ton and 300-ton versions are key configurations for offshore engineering and shipbuilding sectors, with basic parameters tailored to mainstream industry requirements:

Port Handling Type

It adopts a four-link combined jib or single jib structure, equipped with hooks, grabs, and dedicated container spreaders. With a lifting capacity ranging from 10 to 65 tons, it delivers high operational efficiency and is suitable for general cargo terminals, bulk cargo terminals, and multi-purpose berths. It enables integrated loading and unloading of multiple cargo types, including bulk cargo, general cargo, and containers.

Shipbuilding / Offshore Engineering Heavy Lifting Cranes

The core specifications include 150-ton and 300-ton models.
The 150-ton model features a working radius of 18–45 m and a lifting height of 40–60 m, supporting dual-hook coordination and micro-positioning functions.
The 300-ton model offers a working radius of 20–50 m and a lifting height of 50–70 m, adopting an extra-heavy-duty jib and reinforced portal frame design with anti-overturning coefficients meeting high offshore engineering industry standards.
Both models are capable of meeting the requirements for heavy component assembly and precision outfitting lifting at shipbuilding berths, floating dry docks, and offshore construction yards.

Port Handling Type (Bulk Cargo)

The dedicated bulk cargo hopper-type portal crane integrates an enclosed hopper and belt conveyor system, paired with a large-capacity grab. With a handling efficiency of 500–1500 tons per hour, it enables continuous bulk cargo transfer, effectively controls dust pollution, and is suitable for large-scale bulk cargo terminals as well as specialized berths for grain and ore.
Ship construction heavy lifting
The offshore platform / ship-mounted type features a compact, corrosion-resistant reinforced structure and has obtained certifications from international classification societies including CCS, BV, and DNV. With excellent salt spray resistance and wind/wave resistance, it is suitable for harsh ocean conditions. Boasting a lifting capacity of 5–80 tons, it is widely used on offshore platforms, engineering vessels, floating cranes, and drilling ships, providing reliable support for cargo handling, equipment maintenance, and underwater operations.
